Serving Clallam, Jefferson, and Kitsap counties in Washington state, the Olympic Health Care Alliance has over 60 members representing over 40 organizations in the health care and allied service fields.
The alliance was formed under the auspices of the Olympic Workforce Development Council with the mission of resolving workforce issues facing the healthcare industry.

036-OHCA-Didactic.pdf - 2002-2003 Didactic Training in Speciality Skills for RNs and Wellness Workshop Final Report — This is the final report on didactic training in Critical Care/Med Surg, Perioperative, and Gerontology courses (90 to 160 hours) for RNs as part of incumbent worker career ladder advancement. Report also includes information on a "Wellness" workshop offered in four locations. Funded through an Industries of the Future SKILLS training grant from the Washington Employment Security Department. Includes comments on organizing and execution.
037-OHCA-K-12TeacherWorkshops2003.pdf - 2003 Workshops for K-12 Career Counselors, Science and Math Teachers — Summary of workshop designed to background counselors and teachers on teaching their students that there are viable careers in health care along with providing some models for essential Academic Learning Requirements. The workshop was held in three rural areas and one urban. Describes process of organizing workshop(s), content, and participants' evaluations.
Olympic Workforce Development Council: The Olympic Workforce Development Council was formed pursuant to the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, Public Law 105.220. The council works in partnership with the nine county commissioners of the Olympic Consortium Board to provide policy guidance and program oversight for WIA activities within the service delivery area of Kitsap, Clallam and Jefferson Counties. The council helps determine procedures for the development of five.year strategic and operational plans and approves the plans before their submittal to the Governor.
