It’s never too late to be the person you want to be.

Over forty graduates took the stage at last night’s SkillSource Learning Center commencement ceremony in Wenatchee, which was held at the Wenatchee First Assembly of God. The pews were filled to overflowing and guests even lined up along the back walls in order to witness and celebrate the accomplishments of their loved ones. It was an evening of full hearts, tears of joy, and a palpable sense of achievement.

SkillSource Learning Center graduates come from a variety of backgrounds and overcome immense obstacles. Our classes provide basic, career, and life skills training to enable youth and adults to become confident, productive and employable. Programs are self-paced, open-entry and customized for each student’s unique needs. Each and every student worked incredibly hard — often while holding down jobs and supporting families. With the ongoing support of their dedicated instructors and the students’ personal commitment to doing the work, 38 youth and 9 adult graduates have secured their diploma or equivalency, and are ready for their next best step.

We are incredibly grateful to our partners who help make this all possible. In Wenatchee, SkillSource partners with Wenatchee School District and Wenatchee Valley College to provide robust Open Doors and High School plus programs. The Okanogan Commencement took place in Omak on Monday, June 3, which was possible thanks to a partnership with Okanogan School District. And thanks to partnership with the Othello School District, the Othello Commencement will be on Monday, June 10.

Congratulations to all of this year’s graduates!
