SkillSource is committed to lifelong learning. The strength of our service requires ongoing training, practice, and collaboration to meet the evolving needs of our community and customers.

This summer the SkillSource team is engaging in a four-part “boot camp” staff training that involves team members from Moses Lake, Wenatchee, Othello, and Omak. The expanded training provides new and existing staff with opportunities to revisit organizational essentials, such as understanding our roles and impact within Washington’s workforce  system, and learning orientation and workshop best practices from colleagues.

This summer school for SkillSource staff examines the “why” behind the work we do, the “how”, and looks at opportunities to improve efficiency with the right tools, resources, and team support.

Thank you to Hana Butler of Nash Consulting for facilitating a valuable discussion on the art and skill of coaching. It was an eye-opening dialogue and practice that provided staff with immediate, practical tools for supporting the individuals we work with every day.

SkillSource will continue the summer training in the coming weeks with additional sessions in Moses Lake and Wenatchee. We are grateful to the planning team who helped organize and facilitate the training, and to North Central ESD for the use of their space for our initial session.
